Description

what is the buzzer?

     It is a simple Piezo Transducer that create some beeps. Piezo Transducers are similar to speakers in that an applied voltage causes the piezo crystal to move and make a sound. Buzzers can be found in alarm devices, computers, timers… etc.

How does it work?

It works like a drum.  A drum has a membrane that is struck by drum sticks, causing it to vibrate and produce sounds. However, for the buzzer the drum sticks is replaced by electrical current. As electricity flows through the buzzer it goes through ceramic materials with piezo-electric property which vibrates when voltage pass through producing sounds. By changing the frequency of the electricity, the frequency of the sound changes 

How to connect it?

Buzzers have three pins, “+”, “-“and “s”.  Plus and minus are for power and the signal “s” is to change the voltage level that in turns changes the sound. Consequently, you should connect your buzzer as following:

(+) on the sensors -->  5v on the board

(-) on the sensors --> G on the board

(S) on the sensors --> to any digital pin on the board that can fit to.

Note : You can use the white three pins connector or three separate female to female connectors
